Mysti-skies is a family passion and would not be possible without each other. We also have horses & cats so I thought this page would be a good way of introducing us all.

Myself

What can I say about myself?

I love what I do.  German Shepherds are my passion and as I am frequently reminded by my husband my life.

I could not imagine myself doing anything different now and feel very lucky to be able to spend my life surrounded by our animals.

I have qualifications in a number of human fields including: psychology, sociology and aromatherapy.  But I enjoy more my qualifications with animals which include: Small animal care and management, horse care and management and Zoopharmacognosy working with aromatic medicine.

John

John is my husband & both myself and the dogs would be lost without him.  He takes care of all the maintenance and building required and does all the driving  around to vets, training and other visits.

Most of all he works with me and the dogs, I think he gave up a while ago thinking he was first and the dogs came second and tells everyone how the animals get fed better than him.  He never moans when I spend all our money on the dogs instead of holidays and nights out and encourages all my plans and dreams.

Roxanne

Roxanne turns everything into a crisis a small cut is a leg amputation  I am sure you an imagine the rest.  But she works very hard and puts a lot of time and effort into the dogs.  She loves being around the puppies and spends a lot of time with them playing, grooming and just general handling.

She is also a big lover of horses and likes to train and show them.

She spends a lot of time with the dogs & enjoys dog training and trips down to the beach with them & would like to start her own breeding program at some point.

Kirstie

What can I say about Kirstie?  Everything is an effort, she constantly needs a kick up the bottom to get her motivated.  But in a crisis she is as cool as a cucumber and she has a special affinity with all the animals.  They all love her what ever species they are, although she prefers the horses from the ground rather than on their backs.

All the dogs go daft round Kirstie and most of them will lie on top of her on their backs for a cuddle

Katrina

Katrina is our lady she hates dirt, can't cut up the raw meat,  but again works very hard here.

Trina is also a big lover of horses a neat and very confident rider

Trina is a good cook for both humans and animals.  She makes treats for dogs, cats and horses which go down very well here. She is currently setting up her own business and will soon be selling them.

Trina has done a years college training to be a beautician and is hoping to finish her training over the next couple of years and in the future have her own salon.

Brett

Brett is our muscle he carries all the heavy things for us and helps his dad do all the maintenance and repairs.  Although typical teenager a lot of it under protest.

He loves being around the animals and is a real softy when he thinks nobody is watching him, otherwise it would damage his street cred.

Brett has been at college this year on an electrian course he has just started an apprenticeship and will hopefully become a fully qualified eletrician.

Karissa

Karissa is our spoilt baby of the family.

She loves all the animals and we often lose her when we have puppies because she has gone in with the babies and fell asleep, so you find Karissa asleep with all the puppies asleep on top of her.

Her latest passion is feeding the wild birds to see how many different species she can encourage to feed

Genna

Genna is a Morgan X and was given to me as a gift from a lady who became a friend through the Morgan's.

She is 12 years old and a real sweety, although she can be quite stubborn when she wants.  She is also an alpha mare and keeps all the others in check.

She is ridden by Trina mostly and is just coming back into work after having a foal and a couple of years off

Banoffee

Noffers is a New Forest Pony.

She is 7 years old and ridden by Karissa.  she has a very laid back nature and will let you do anything, great with kids because she is so gentle.

We have had her since she was 6 months old and she has always taken everything in her stride and accepted anything new quite happily.

She had a little colt 2 years ago who was gorgeous and  she was a very good mommy.

Lyric

Lyric is a New Forest Pony, affectionately known as the Thelwell pony here.

He is 11 years old and a typical pony, bossy, cocky and stubborn, but with a very affectionate side too.  He is just one of those boys that even when he is being really naughty you cant help but love him.

We all ride him, he is not a novice ride but since he is always so fat he is not capable of doing anything drastic.

Tim

Tim is a New Forest X and our old man.

He is 26 years old but still as fit as a fiddle, he has done it all and knows all the tricks to get out of doing something he doesn't want to. But is a little gem on lead rein.

He was originally brought for Katrina but she is too big for him now so Karissa  rides him now, although he is not  worked much  and is enjoying semi retirement.

Vision

Vision is a pure bred Morgan.

She is 3 years old and a very dainty sweet natured little girl.

She is out of the most gorgeous mare and has inherited her good looks. She also knows it and struts her stuff as if saying look at me I am the important one.

Roxanne is just starting to work her lightly and introduce her to the wonders of life.

Electra

Electra is a pure bred Morgan

She is 3 years old and right diva.

Electra is our newest edition, Roxanne is planning to show her and hopefully breed her at a later date.

She really is a diva and has to be centre of attention at all times, the perfect temperament for a show horse.

Bubble

Bubble is one of a pair of feral cats we own (or should I say own us)

Although she started off feral she has now decided she quite likes being cuddled and kissed and will get on your lap for a fuss.

She is called bubbles cause she blows bubbles from her mouth when she's contented and purring.

Her best friend besides her brother is Bear she will curl up and go to sleep on his back,  she will often re-arrange his coat with her claws to make it comfy and you can see Bear wincing as she digs too deep.

Squeak

Squeak is Bubbles brother. Unlike her he has not come round to the joys of cuddles.  Although he will stay quite close he will not get close enough for a fuss and will run if you approach him.

We called him Squeak as he cant meow he just makes a funny squeak noise.

Dinx

Dinx is a Persian X Siamese with most of the traits of the latter including the ears.

She was supposed to be 9 weeks old when we fetched her but we thought more like 4 or 5 weeks which was confirmed by the vet.  She unfortunately was too young to leave mommy and was ill soon after we got her but she has recovered well after a few vet visits & lots of TLC & is now full of herself.  She is a very bold kitty and soon let the dogs know who is boss much to Bear's disgust even though she is no bigger than their noses.

Binx

Binx is a shortcoat moggie who belongs to Katrina.

She joined us at 10 weeks old & soon made herself at home.  The dogs did not seem too daunting and she soon settled and started bossing them around. Bear thinks she is a new playmate even when she is hanging off his nose with her claws.

Button

Button is a 7 year old short legged Jack Russell

She is a typical Jack rat full of attitude and vocal but with a sweet side too.  She has had 3 litters for Kirstie & 4 of the puppies have gone on to work as therapy dogs with children & adults.  She has a lively disposition and loves people but a bit of a Rotweiler in Jack Russell clothing when it comes to other dogs.

Zippo

Zippo is a 5 year old long legged Jack Russell

What can I say about Zippo, he is totally mad has an obsession with balls and squeeky toys and has an abundance of energy.  He is really sweet with people and female dogs but thinks he is Rambo with male dogs.

Both Button & Zippo belong to Kirstie, I am not sure where I went wrong as neither of them look or act anything like a German Shepherd.
