Our Family
MYSELF
What can I say about myself?
I love what I do. German Shepherds are my passion and as I am frequently reminded by my husband my life.
I could not imagine myself doing anything different now and feel very lucky to be able to spend my life surrounded by
our animals.
I have qualifications in a number of human fields including: psychology, sociology and aromatherapy. But I enjoy more
my qualifications with animals which include: Small animal care and management, horse care and management and
Zoopharmacognosy working with aromatic medicine.
You will not find many pictures of me as I am usually behind the camera rather than in front or at the sidelines getting
the dogs attention or making them sit and stay for the posing pictures. But mostly because I hate my picture taken so
avoid the camera as much as possible.
JOHN
John is my husband & both myself and the dogs would be lost without him. He takes care of all the maintenance and
building required and does all the driving around to vets, training, supply shoping.
Most of all he works with me and the dogs, I think he gave up a while ago thinking he was first and the dogs came
second and tells everyone how the animals get fed better than him.
He never moans when I spend all our money on the dogs instead of holidays and nights out and encourages all my
plans and dreams.
He keeps all the kennels and paddock fencing in good repair to make sure no escapees dogs or horses & builds any
new things we need at the moment, which has been a lot lately with the move. I can honestly say me and the dogs
would be lost without him.
Mysti-skies is possible due to all the hard work & commitment put in by the whole family.
This page aims to introduce you to all the family & the other animals that share our lives & time
KIRSTIE
Kirstie now has a place of her own with her partner, and lives quite a distance so does not get to visit too often with
work commitments etc. However when she does she will help out where needed. She has her own dogs now too but
not for breeding just spoilt well loved pets.
KATRINA
Katrina now has a place of her own with her husband and two sons, however she still comes over a lot and helps
where needed and will pick up shopping or take me shopping and other places I need to go.
She still also brings us muffins and other bakes she has put together so customers if lucky can get a sample too.
Trina has her own girl now and has a litter every now and then.
BRETT
Brett now has a place of his own with his partner and their son, but still helps out when we need big jobs done or when
he comes to visit. We would have been lost without him when we moved here he gave up his holidays and other days
off to help.
He comes across as the hard man but loses all his street cred when hes around the puppies.
Brett has his own dogs a German Shepherd and a staffie x collie. He has no interest in breeding although loves being
around the dogs here and the puppies.
KARISSA
Karissa is the baby of the family, but not a baby anymore she now has her own home. She still comes over as much as
she can and often helps when we have visitors and puppy viewings, mostly bringing dogs in and out for me.
She will groom and help exercise but I think secretly she only comes so she can spend time with the horses which is
her first love.
SARAYA
Saraya is our first grandaughter, eldest of our grandchildren.
She is a happy bunny always smiling & playing, but with an attitude when things do not go her way. She already tells
the dogs what to do and they willingly oblige & gets very excited about cuddling them all the dogs know to be gentle
around her and some avoid her or they know it will be none stop cuddles whether they want them or not.
She is excellent for socialising the puppies as will sit on the floor with them & play & tells them off when they get out of
hand.
She also enjoys feeding the puppies and will sit in their bed and help them eat by hand feeding them.
Saraya loves her visits here and comes regular because she loves being around the animals.
IFAN
Ifan is our first grandson and the next new recruit to the clan. Ifan lived with us until recently so was around the dogs
all the time. He still comes up regularly with Katrina and will tootle around on his tractor while we are outside with the
dogs.
He loves the animals and enjoys his cuddles with them when ever they are on offer. but he does tell them off when
they keep getting in his face and will not let him play and he is quite happy to run them over with his tractor if they get
in the way although he gets told off for that.
He also loves the camera and we have great trouble getting photographs of the dogs when he is about because he will
insist on putting his face in front of the lens
OSIAN
Osian is our second grandson & like Ifan spends most days here and has well and truly been accepted into the fold by
the dogs but not so sure he enjoys the sloppy kisses as much.
Osian loves his visits but is a right wimp around the dogs although he has been around them ever since he was born,
however he adores the cats and the cats adore him and follow him all around the farm at his beck and call its a bit like
the pied piper.
KEEGAN
Keegan is our third grandson. Keegan arrived very early and as a consequence has spina bifida, scoliosis and is
autistic, this obviously has an affect on his ability to move about. He can not walk, so crawls everywhere although it
does not seem to slow him down at all. He also has issues because of his autism with change and anything new and
will display aggression and temper when this happens. He is here often and is happiest being in the thick of it with the
dogs he absolutely loves it and if they give him kisses he is in fits of giggles. I think he is going to be another Saraya
and happiest when he is up to his neck in fur and doggie kisses. All our fur babies seem to know he is a little different
to the others in fact I think they knew before we did and they have always been different around him and drawn to be
around him.
JACOB
We were blessed with 2 new grandsons on mothers day this year. Jacob arrived at tea time 8 weeks early weighing in at
4lb 4 ozs. He has been well and truely inducted to a life full of German Shepherds and seems very happy about it.
JAXON
Our second mothers day baby Jaxon. This bundle arrived a little early but weighing in at a whopping 10lb 2oz. Like the
others he has been well and truely intergrated with the dogs both here and at home. I am sure he will soon follow his
brother Ifan and enjoy them just as much, as well as tractors, cars anything associated with farms.
FLYNN
Flynn is grand son number 6 and the latest addition to the family. Brett and Nia are over joyed with their not so little
bundle of 8lb 2ozs. He has already been amongst their dogs and had first introductions with ours. Another budding
mysti-skies trainee.
SINI
We have always had a smaller dog along with the sheps to help socialise them with smaller dogs. After losing both
our jack russells we decided we could not replace them so would have a different breed. Staffies have always been a
smaller dog I like and they get a bad rap usually down to bad owners.
Although I have to say she is not for the faint hearted she is definitely a handful, stubborn, destructive and has an
endless supply of energy. Hence why not very many photos of her as everything is done at 100 miles an hour.
However she has the biggest heart ever she has so much affection & just loves to be cuddled, adores the children, and
gives us a giggle on a regular basis.
DINX
Dinx is a Persian X supposed to be with a siamese but we think from her build and personality it is more likely a
British Shorthair.
She joined us when she was about 5 weeks old & took over as soon as she walked in, it took her all of five minutes to
train the dogs to her liking. She is very affectionate when she wants to be but usually on her terms only. She is old
before her time and likes nothing better than sleeping all day she is not interested in playing & gets very stressy with
the other cats if they try to interact with her. She is a beautiful looking cat with very distinct colouring and markings.
BOUDICIA
Boudicia is a Selkirk Rex with a straight coat.
Bo Bo as she is affectionately known by us was given to Katrina from a friend of ours. She bred her and kept her back
as she was the tiny kitty in the litter but as you can see she has grown into a pretty not so little thing full of fun &
mischief.
Bo Bo settled in very quickly again training the dogs to her liking and often uses them as her pillow. She has a
character like no other cat I have ever known she is so laid back most of the time movement is impossible but then
when in playful mode she becomes a different cat.
Bo Bo gets on with all the animals but we have to be careful as she sees no danger in anything & often visits the
horses with us which is not a good
idea with Lyric as he does not like
cats.
PURDII
Purrdi joins us from my family and has settled in extremely well. She has taken over all the dogs and made friends with
all the cats
All the dogs are now owned by Purrdi and so are the humans she has this habit of staring at you which makes you give
in, I am sure she thinks she is Puss from Shrek but it works.
She loves to curl up on your lap to sleep but she also thinks she is a computer nerd and enjoys helping you type.
Shes quite a petite cat with a petite meow but such a cuddle munster.
NANO
Nano was born here with her sister Star.
She is a Selkirk Rex cross & certainly has a Selkirk nature & personality.
She is very loving likes to sit on your lap having cuddles.
She likes to wind the dogs up by either rubbing all up them or walking in front of the kennels just far enough away for
them to not be able to her.
STAR
Star was born here & belongs to Karissa but remained with us as Karissa lives right on a busy road and Star is used to
countryside and open spaces.
She is a very affectionate cat but loves to stretch & dig in her claws which is not appreciated by everyone.
She gets on well with all the dogs but will not stand for them harassing her so the puppies soon get a rude awakening.
She can be very vocal especially if she does not think she is getting enough attention when she demands it.
MOOCH
Mooch was born here she was a tiny kitten but had such a big personality and we all fell in love with her. We
nicknamed her mini as she was so tiny which then ended up as mini mooch hence Mooch.
Although we had lots of enquiries for the kittens everybody seemed to pass her by because she was tiny so we decided
it was meant to be she remained.
She is very affectionate & loves to be cuddled by anyone including visitors
ODIN
Odin belongs to Brett but he cant have cats where he lives so he stayed here with us.
He is a huge boy who is very affectionate with humans he just wants to be on your lap. However Horation hates him
and he hates Horatio so we often have spats between those two. He is another one who loves osian and will follow
him around all day if Horatio gives him the chance.
He likes to explore all day then come in for an available lap at night he is not too fussed who’s as long as he gets one.
MINKO
Minko is Konas daughter so half Maine coon.
She was called Minko because we couldnt think of a suitable name and said she was a mini Kona which then ended up
shortened to Minko.
Like her mom she has lots of attitude, loves to be centre of attention and loves her cuddle times. So much so that she
will have a cuddle regardless of whether you want one or not as always in your face or on your head, where ever she
knows that she will get your attention.

FOLLOW
NARLA
Narla is another of Bretts cats who has stayed with us.
She is a quiet sweet cat but very aloof not at all a lap cat she prefers the comfort of a bed or sofa rather than
someones lap.
She avoids all the trouble makers as enjoys a peaceful life and she keeps well out the way of the dogs
GENNA
Genna is a Morgan X she is 21 years old and a real sweety, although she can be quite stubborn when she wants. She
is also an alpha mare and keeps all the others in check.
She is ridden by Trina mostly but needs to be brought back into work again after probably a little too long a rest.
BANOFFEE
Noffers is a New Forest Pony.
She is 17 years old.
She used to be ridden by Karissa. but she is far too tall for her now so tends to be ridden by our little family visitors
as she has a very laid back nature and will let you do anything, great with kids because she is so gentle. No doubt
Saraya will soon be learning to ride & making full use of her.
We have had her since she was 6 months old and she has always taken everything in her stride and accepted
anything new quite happily.
She had a little colt a few years ago who was gorgeous and she was a very good mommy.
Noffers is a special pony with a big heart.
LYRIC
Lyric is a New Forest Pony, affectionately known as the Thelwell pony here.
He is 20 years old and a typical pony, bossy, cocky and stubborn, but with a very affectionate side too. He is just one
of those boys that even when he is being really naughty you cant help but love him.
He is very naughty with the dogs and has been known to chase a few sheep or cows in his time.
We all ride him, he is not a novice ride but since he is always so fat he is not capable of doing anything drastic.
ELECTRA
Electra is a pure bred Morgan
She is 9 years old and a right diva.
Electra is our newest edition, Roxanne was planning to show her and hopefully breed her at a later date, but that has
been put on hold due to her own baby plans
She really is a diva and has to be centre of attention at all times, the perfect temperament for a show horse.
